The Experience International Short-Term Summer farm stay program is a wonderful, fun and safe way to travel, explore the natural beauty of the northwest, experience our culture, practice English, and learn about farming in the United States.
We invite you to join us next summer for a vacation of a lifetime!
Who Can Apply?
- Students who are enrolled in a post secondary agricultural program.
- Groups of student from a vocational program, college or university.
- Families that seek a special on-farm vacation in the United States.
Placements and Types of Farms
- Your placement will be in Washington State which has one of the most highly diversified agricultural production in the United States.
- Because Washington State is so diversified, we offer a wide diversity of placement options: dairy, crops, wine, plant nurseries, horses, vegetables, fruit, oysters and more!
- You tell us what you want and we will do our best to find it for you!
Program Dates and Length of Stay
- You can choose from 4 to 8 weeks for your program.
- You can start in mid-June or mid-July.
Experience International will provide you with the following:
- Placement with a fun, honest, family that runs a well-managed, safe operation.
- Fact sheets covering culture adaptation, what to pack, and what to expect.
- An arrival orientation and transportation to the placement.
- An all-program weekend event in July.
- 24/7 support in the event of an emergency and/or difficulties encountered.
- Personal accident/health insurance policy.
Application Process
- To apply, contact our program partner in your home country.
- Submit an application form.
- Interview with Experience International or our program partner.
- Your placement will be made based on the type of farm you request.
- Detailed placement information will be provided to you before you decide to accept it.
Purpose of Travel and Visa
- Participants are responsible for all their own expenses, including international travel.
- It must be fully understood that participants are here as tourists and cannot work or receive wages of any kind while in the United States.
Who Can Participate?
- Individuals & Families:
- Agricultural students 18 years or older
- Adults and families that have worked in an agricultural setting.
- Groups:
- Farm families or organized groups of 5-20 agricultural students.
Requirements
- Visa: You must be eligible for, and enter the USA on a B1/B2 visitor visa.
- Health: You must have no physical or mental health problems that would limit activities or possible potential safety problems to either yourself or others.
- Language: You should have basic conversational English.
- Driver's License: You must have a valid home country driver's license.
